Beyond Boundaries: Exploring Google’s AI BARD for Enhanced Performance in Digital Marketing [All You Need To Know]

In this era of innovative technology, the potential of AI has proven to be an effective method for people to access more information and compute relevant data. With the emergence of ChatGpt, Google has seen the potential benefits and made its version of an AI chat service named “Bard,”  with the goal of becoming an integral part of the Google Search experience.

Bard is designed to be used similarly to ChatGpt; the big difference is that  Google’s service will pull its information from the web. It enables internet users to collaborate with the power of generative AI through its LLM integration. Having launched Bard last March 2023, Google has iterated quickly to expand its capabilities – always in accordance with our AI Principles. They believe that one of the promises of LLM-based innovations like Bard is to help people unlock their human potential to augment their imagination, expand their curiosity, and enhance their productivity. They see it as a complementary experience to Google Search.

Bard can access vast amounts of information from several Google apps and social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Learn more about Bard, its advantages,  capabilities and limitations  in this blog post.

Advantages of Bard in Digital Marketing

Like any other chat service, Bards was created with a purpose, and that is to help make the user experience more outstanding. Here are some of Bard’s advantages.

  • Become More Productive

Users will be able to save time and effort by collaborating with Bard. For instance, say a user is planning a social media post; Bard can help them develop their to-do list and draft an invitation outline — helping free up the user’s time and brain space to dedicate to higher-level tasks. Bard can also help with coding tasks, which has quickly become one of the most popular things people do with Bard.

  • Sparks Creativity

Bard can also help bring users’ ideas and concepts to life or spark their creativity in new ways. For example, if a user writes an SEO-integrated blog post, Bard can outline details and headings, providing a starting point for the topic so they do not have to face a blank page. Bard inspires creativity by generating poems, short stories, taglines, and other imaginative endeavors.

  • Stir Up Curiosity

Bard can be a jumping-off point for users’ curiosity as they explore ideas or topics of their interest. For instance, Bard can explain a complex website development concept or surface relevant insights on a subject, which might inspire and urge a user to explore and learn more

Limitations of Bard

Although Bards is a promising LMS-based interface, some things could still be improved when using it. This includes the following.

  • Accuracy

Bard is grounded in Google’s understanding of quality data and information and is trained to generate relevant responses to the context and in line with users’ intent. But like all LLMs, it creates inaccurate responses or misleading ideas while presenting them confidently and convincingly.

  • Bias

Bards have access to publicly available resources, reflecting a diversity of perspectives and opinions. With this information into consideration, Bards can generate ideas with bias. These gaps, prejudices, and stereotypes in training data can result in a model reflecting those in its outputs as it tries to predict a plausible reaction.

  • False Positives/negatives

To prevent Bard from responding to prompts, it’s not yet trained to address or output harmful or offensive content; we’ve put a set of technical guardrails in place. These guardrails aim to prevent problematic responses, but Bard can sometimes misinterpret these guardrails, producing “false positives” and “false negatives.” In a “false positive,” Bard might not respond to a reasonable prompt, misinterpreting the prompt as inappropriate.

  • Persona

Bard- even if its AI,  may sometimes generate responses that suggest it has opinions or emotions, like love or sadness, since it has trained on language that people use to reflect the human experience. Google has developed guidelines around how Bard might represent itself by fine-tuning the model to provide objective, neutral responses.

Bottom Line

Google’s AI BARD is a game-changer in the field of digital marketing, but there are also some limitations that users should take into consideration. Since Bard is still at its developmental stage, its capabilities are north-worthy, and it can improve and level up the digital marketing landscape.
